MAP LINKS
I do have a page of GPS coordinates
available for mapping and navigation. It is not posted in
the public area of the site however simply for the sake of
privacy. If you'd like to obtain a copy of these
coordinates send me an email and I'll forward the link to you.
Earth.Google.com
The Google Earth software is free to
download and use from the above link and is the very best of
them all. You can tour virtually any countryside anywhere
and at any detail level. This is the one you want.
Google
Google maps can be zoomed in or out, with
satellite and hybrid views available. The hybrid view
seems to give some of the best details. Likewise you can
obtain driving directions via Google as well to calculate
mileage. Always double check automated route and mileage
calculations, many times they lead you the long way.
Topozone
Topozone is another good source for very
detailed interactive maps. Here's a link.
TerraServer
TerraServer is another very good
interactive mapping system. Here's a link.
MapQuest
Of course there is still MapQuest.
They are useful for quick directions but not very helpful with
detail. Also note that MapQuest will often NOT give you
the best directions and may take you around "the long way" when
routing a trip so always double check their directions for
efficiency. Here's a link.
Weather
Weather mapping and other weather
statistics are available in many places, but for convenience
here's a link.
